About three years ago, I had my first photoshoot, in an area of the Mojave Desert named Joshua Tree. Such an amazing place! But let me tell you, if you don’t like the heat, definitely not the place to go. Or if you love lots of water, don’t go. Either way, it’s amazing place to visit, and apparently, to have a photoshoot.
“Look at the camera!"
Once we rented a little house in the middle of nowhere in Joshua Tree, California for a couple of weeks. After traveling a month to get to the house, we arrived at midnight in our RV.
The nighttime sky was filled with bright glittering stars. Even the stars outshined the moon! It’s crazy how much light-pollution we have compared to Joshua Tree. I mean, it’s insane!
Days had past, and things started to get boring. Behind the house, there were huge jumbo rocks we climbed. On one of our climbing adventures, we ran into snake skin, big spiders, and… cat footprints! But not just any ‘old cat footprints. Cougar footprints!
The most craziest-but scary- parts was that the cougar footprints were on top of my little sister, Jessie’s footprints that she’d left earlier! After that, it was clear for everyone to stay together!
Before we made our way to Joshua Tree, we stayed in San Francisco for a couple of days.
Though it wasn’t our priority to stay there too long. San Francisco is a nice city. But, it has it’s ups and downs. For the ‘ups’ really pretty city, right near Chinatown, sunny, charming, and warm. For the ‘downs’, lots of homeless people poop in the streets (not even joking), crazy traffic, and everything is really expensive. And don’t even get me started on the hills! Oh, my goodness!
On one of our last days at San Francisco, we visited Chinatown. That’s where I got this pink, silky dress I’m wearing in the picture!
Chinatown was filled with Chinese markets, stores, and authentic Chinese food. We spent all day in Chinatown just walking around, admiring the sights.
That trip was also the first time we went to the Redwoods. The Redwoods is one of my favorite places to go. The trees are huge! Some are as wide as four cars combined!
Another amazing thing about the house we rented, was that it had already been used for photoshoots with big companies, such as Victoria Secret, Calvin Klein, and some B rated movies! That’s when my mother had the idea of doing a photoshoot, with me, being the model!
“Look at the camera!” Cowboy boots, hot pink Chinese dress, me, camera, a beautiful landscape used by famous models ...it’s on. For the rest of the day I got to be Kait the Model!
Ha-ha!
I hoped you liked MY TRAVELS post today! Have you had any days where you got to be someone other than yourself?
Cheese!

Great article. And interesting. (Some days I act like a psychiatrist and others like a tour guide.) "All the world is a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts." - Shakespeare
Such a fun trip! Can't wait to go back, I love the desert. Great article!!!
