Hi, Readers! Welcome back to another FAN REQUEST. In this article, I have been asked to share some of my favorite cozy books and one of my favorite drinks for cozy days. Hope you enjoy!
With the weather getting colder(just about freezing) it’s the perfect time of year to snuggle up with a fluffy blanket, brew yourself some chai tea or coffee, and read a good book! So thank you, Reader, for requesting this topic.
When is the perfect time to read? Obviously, cold and rainy days are! Duh! When it’s gross out and everyone is stuck inside, reading is my favorite activity. I’m always so sad when I’m out working or running errands on days like these because all I want to do is go home and enjoy the weather with a good book!
I like to read with my fluffy throw blanket, cuddling up on my bed or on my comfy recliner chair. My go-to drink while I read is chai tea! My sister introduced me to making chai tea lattes at home a couple of months ago, and I’ve been addicted ever since. And owning a frother wand doesn’t help this addiction-- but you only live once, so let me be happy. Hahahaha.
How I Make My Chai Tea Lattes:
First, I let the chai tea bag steep for about two-five minutes. For a sweetener, I typically use honey. But, sugar works fine too.
While I’m waiting, I take a separate glass and begin frothing vanilla oak milk until it’s thick and fluffy.
Once I pour the milk in the tea, I like to add some ground cinnamon for extra flavor and looks. And, that’s it! It’s pretty easy to make, tasty, and really aesthetic. (Also good iced!)
After I make myself tea, I grab a good book! Below are five of my favorite books I’ve read that I consider cozy books.
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. This book is deep, tragic, poetic, and I just love it. The first time I read this book, it was wintertime and it had rained for a straight week! (Genres: gothic fiction, science fiction, horror fiction)
The Catcher in The Rye by J.D.Salinger. (Genres: young adult fiction, bildungsroman, first-person narrative)
Little Women by L. M. Alcott. (Genres: bildungsroman, comedy, fiction)
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. (Genres: young adult fiction, science fiction, thriller, dystopian fiction)
Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. A sweet read filled with funny and heartwarming adventures! (Genres: children’s literature, bildungsroman, fiction, coming-of-age)
Extra Recommendation:
-Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer. I had to recommend this one because whenever it’s cold and wet, I almost always think about the weather in Forks, Washington. (Genres: romance novel, young adult fiction, fantasy fiction, paranormal fiction)
