DANCE: Eighth-Year Trophy

So, I don’t usually like to brag...

I’m a dancer. I do tap, jazz, and pointe. I've danced at a studio in a little part of my town Deep Creek for eight years this year. And I just found out that I’m getting my Eighth-year trophy!!!

When you have danced two years, you get a pink plastic flower.

Five years you get a small gold trophy.

Eight years, you get a medium trophy!

...I'm getting my eighth-year trophy!!!

I am so grateful for my dance teacher, Miss Pauline, for being so awesome at what she does, or I wouldn’t be writing this! She didn’t just teach me how to tap and spin. She has helped me grow into the dancer I am now. Plus, not only does she challenge my dance potential, but she also gives me the opportunity to be a Dance Assistant (and I have been doing this for 3 years this year) for the younger dance classes at the studio. I get the chance on a weekly basis to help lead dances and work with younger dancers. I hope one day I can give the same inspiration she has given me- and continues to give me- to others. Thank you so much, Miss Pauline, for being the magnificent dance teacher you are.

I’m so excited for this year's recital! That’s when I’ll walk up on the stage...and receive the trophy! (I know what you're thinking ‘it’s just a trophy.’) Well, you're right. But the trophy is like a step further to the Tenth-year trophy!

After the Tenth year of dance, it just keeps getting better and better.

Technically though, I’ve been dancing for nine years. Before Miss Pauline, I danced in a studio in another city. I don’t even remember the name of the places because it’s been so long ago.

Anyway, I had no idea what to write about for this weeks entry... Well, actually, I kinda did. I have tons of topics to write about in the near future! But.. dancing just feels right! But I couldn’t just write about how I know how to dance. So, I decided to have a little brag about my dance achievements and success. It’s challenging, really, coming up with topics to write on, and I’m really not one for bragging. It's the type of thing I just don’t see the pointe in. So I thought I’d try by starting with the Eighth-year trophy I’m receiving.
