Happy Autumn, Readers! I hope you all had an amazing summer. I can’t believe it’s Autumn already. Though I will miss summer and its warmth and fun, I am so ready for Fall.
As we move into the next month, I am slowly beginning to pull out my favorite sweaters, Halloween movies, jeans, etc. The weather here in VA is still warm and humid, but the days are growing shorter and during the night, I can start to feel a real chill in the air. It’s funny how sudden Fall comes, isn't it?
Like last year, I’ve picked out a few books to read this season. My goal is to read these three books I’ve listed below before Halloween.
Book One: Dracula by Bram Stroker
Book Two: The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
Book Three: Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
What’s on your Autumn/Halloween reading list? If you need some suggestions, below are books that I read last year. I 100% recommend them all.
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. This book is a 10/10, in my opinion. It was sooooo good. I can’t recommend it enough. It was dark, sad, and plain-out creepy.
Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. Spooky, yet not too scary. Perfect for October.
The Shining by Stephen King. Very heavy and scary. To me, you could read this during Autumn and Winter, and it would still fit the season.
Just the other day, I was telling a friend one of the reasons why I love this season so much is because it’s the one time of year where I can read creepy/horror novels without anyone around me worrying. Haha! I love to read creepy books, especially the classics, because it’s so deep and dramatic and dark that it reminds me of poetry.
I will be sure to write a BOOKS post on all of my Autumn reads as soon as I’m finished. Other than that, thank you for reading this week’s post. Be sure to hit the like button at the bottom of the article, and as always, stay tuned until my next post!
I loved The Haunting of Hill House!! I am planning on reading The Shining via Audiobook soon.
I like Your article and your suggestions… One of my all-time favorites was Something Wicked this Way Comes. Very thought-provoking and suspenseful. Thanks for the reminder Kait!
