Hello, Readers! How have you been? We made it through winter— and yes, I’ll miss my sweaters when it’s time to put them away— but I am so happy we’re moving into the warmer months of the year.
What did you do for the first day of Spring? As the new season begins, I always love to do a ‘Spring cleaning’ throughout my house. It feels so refreshing to sweep up dust, organize the clutter on my desk, and really welcome this new season. Some people also like to start new hobbies for a new season— or in my case, a new side hustle.
For those who didn’t see my announcement on Instagram already, I am now a freelance editor! As of right now, I am editing short stories and blog posts on Fiverr. I want to offer more, but with my graduation coming up, I’m going to take it slow at first.
So, what is Fiverr?
Fiverr is an online marketplace where freelancers all over the world can sell their products to buyers. Whether you need a graphic designer, math tutor, ghostwriter, translator, copy editor---you’ll be able to find the right freelancer for an affordable price.
I first heard about Fiverr when I was in the editing process with Loading. My father had shown it to me, thinking I’d be able to find someone to help me with my book. By that point, I had already decided to edit on my own, but the platform truly inspired me. Being an editor has always been one of my aspirations, but I had no idea you could be a freelance editor. I saved the idea in the back of my mind, hoping I could start my own freelance business one day—when my father stumbled upon a Jeep article the next week that was quite an interesting coincidence. The article was about a woman in her twenties who bought a $50,000 Jeep in cash. But what really surprised the media was how she could afford it.
It turns out she’s a freelance writer.
I was mind blown. A week before reading the article, I thought maybe I could freelance, but after learning that was what she did for a living, I knew I would give it my best shot.
Honestly, I was kind of nervous to start freelancing. I didn’t feel ready to begin my first side hustle. But I knew that I wasn’t ever going to feel ready, and I knew that if I waited around until I felt ready, my chance would pass.
I followed the freelance writer on social media and took a workshop she offered on freelancing to educate myself on how Fiverr works. After I completed the workshop, I created my Fiverr account. This was in November, and I didn’t touch the account again until this month. I was worried that I wouldn’t have time to do anything extra with graduation coming up and not to mention I’m trying to finish my second novel. But then I decided to take it slow and only edit short works so that I could still focus on my school and writing. I would love to edit thick manuscripts, but in my case, I think it’s best to start small.
If you have a short story, blog post or article, or anything under 5000 words that you want proofread, please check out my Fiverr account! My rate is $5 for 5000 words. My goal is not money but just as many customers and positive reviews as possible! Please spread the word!
Thank you for reading this week’s article. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Please like this article, share it with your friends, and as always, come back for me!

So excited for you and this new venture! I wonder if there’s a place to advertise to college students who would be writing their final papers for the semester/year. They would be a hungry audience, wouldn’t they?
